This is done with native yeast fermentations, neutral oak, and no additives. We grow the highest quality fruit, and express vivid flavors, rich texture, and robust character.

Our wines are offered to you as a seated tasting experience, served by knowledgeable staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Quality craftsmanship is reflected in every aspect of Arterra, from wine style and techniques to a traditionally built timber frame tasting room, and the hand-made original artworks of Sandy Gray-Murray. At Arterra, guests can taste first hand, Winemaker Jason Murray’s passion for his craft, and it all starts with his primary passion, the growing of exceptional fruit. His care and dedication to producing high quality fruit is evident in his wine style. He produces wines that are intended to showcase the quality of the fruit we grow, with minimal cellar interventions, neutral oak and Native Yeast Fermentations. Our grapes, fermented with yeast that is naturally occurring on their skins, indigenous malolactic, no additives or finings; produce a fruit forward, complex, and broad flavor profile. Producing clean wine requires fruit conscientiously grown to be harvested free from residue of powerful pesticides.  We exclusively use screw-caps as the tightest closure, allowing us to use what would otherwise be perilously low levels of sulfite, which match or fall below the organic standard.  The taste and finish are notably clean.  And there is no worry about headaches or digestive concerns associated with chemical additives & preservatives, commercial yeast’s toxic exudates, or excessive sulfites.
