Established in 1976, we have thrived under the constant steady hand of our founding family, and for more than 30 years with the leadership of the winemaker acknowledged as “setting the standard” in Virginia. Occupying a landmark 18th Century estate, with 176 acres in vine, we’ve reserved an incomparably deep and honored cellar in vintages for daily tasting and sales in our Library 1821, and at the renowned Northern Italian-inspired restaurant, Palladio. 

Ensconced at the foot of the Southwest Mountains, overlooking the Blue Ridge to the West, the estate lies on the Constitution Highway (Rte 20) linking Madison’s Montpelier, 8 miles to the north, and Jefferson’s Monticello, 18 to the south. The ruins of the mansion Jefferson designed for Governor Barbour stand as a historic landmark, preserved by our founders with advice of the Architecture faculty at the University of Virginia.
